EVRAZ NA currently seeks an Environmental Manager to join our team at our Regina facility.
Requirements
With primary responsibility for the Regina facilities, and secondarily supporting Alberta Operations, ensure Canadian compliance with environmental and related legislation and licenses in the operation, monitoring, maintenance and construction of related works and exceed compliance when feasible by:
o Report preparation and submission, inspections, operations, written programs, studies and construction projects
o Support in compliance, permitting, and regulatory liaison activities
o Develop, in conjunction with management, balanced project budgets, cost estimates and Requests for Expenditure, for the Operations and Corporate budgeting cycles
o Point of contact for regulatory inspections
Ensure that environmental action plans are maintained
Ensure operations are prepared for environmental risks and ensure / facilitate the preparation of environmental preparedness
Ensure, that records required for Operations compliance are maintained, and that current knowledge to assist the Company to minimize environmental liability
Perform regular environmental audit programs, taking a proactive stance on environmental issues
Ensure Compliance with the Management System
Qualifications
Post-secondary degree in engineering required
At least ten years related environmental experience
Solid background/experience with Air permitting
Environmental specialization and experience acquired in heavy industry (steel), government (regulatory) or environmental/engineering consulting
Technical knowledge of related science/engineering principles and federal / provincial / state and municipal laws and environmental legislation applicable to EVRAZ sites.
Previous background leading technical projects and/ or contractors required
Moderate travel will also be required to other Canadian locations
