Description

The Academic Advisor is part of the advising team that is responsible for the provision of support and service to current and prospective students, faculty, and other staff as required. The Academic Advisor plays a role in the recruitment and retention of students by assisting students with making informed decisions concerning their education, promoting student success, identifying and referring students at risk and/or in need of additional resources. The position is expected to demonstrate exceptional communication skills in a variety of modalities (written, verbal, virtual). It is driven by constant deadlines; continuous changes, and shifting priorities, as well as acting as liaison with Indigenous communities. Considerable discretion is required, as this position is privy to, and works closely with, sensitive and highly confidential information.  Some travel is required.
