About the business and the role

With team fit and culture a priority, the business is seeking a dynamic and motivated Payroll Supervisor to join their team on a permanent basis. A strong supervisor with exceptional team building and people management skills is essential.

Job tasks and responsibilities

Working closely with the Finance Manager, your role will encompass

Updates payroll records by reviewing and approving new hires, temporary workers, transfers, promotions and terminations in an accurate and timely manner.
Pays employees by directing the production and issuance of paychecks or electronic transfers to bank accounts
Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages
Determines payroll liabilities by approving the calculation of employee timesheets.
Balances the payroll accounts by resolving payroll discrepancies.
Resonate back to budgets
Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests.
Maintains payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.
Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Skills and experience

To be considered for this position you will need:

Sound analytical & problem solving skills
Knowledge of payroll processes, taxation, superannuation & payroll tax legislation
Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
