General Sandblasting & Painting Ltd. provides surface preparation (blasting) and protective coating/ painting for the repair, protection, prevention, and maintenance of our clients assets. We are proudly Saskatchewan owned and operated with over 35 years of service to a diverse customer base. Our clients are leaders in the oil and gas, manufacturing, mining and industrial sectors in Saskatchewan.
We are looking for an energetic individual to join our team as the Safety Coordinator. Responsibilities include a wide range of activities including, but not limited to:
Maintain safety/training schedule, database and records
Maintain ISNetworld registration/requirements
Support our safety management program
Production support/yard activities as required
Our ideal candidate will:
Have some recognized education and/or training in safety (or related field) combined with at least two years of experience
Have experience in an industrial environment, including equipment operation
Be able to work effectively with minimal supervision and be self-motivated
Possess effective interpersonal, communication and organization skills
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Prefer 2 years minimum experience in HSE role ideally in industrial environment.
Experience and familiarity with the COR Program, Saskatchewan WCB and OH&S regulations
Valid tickets in WHMIS, confined space, first aid
Self-motivated, able to prioritize workload, meet deadlines and be highly organized
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Promote safety culture, program development and show leadership and team building capabilities
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs
Experience in development/delivery of training material
Valid Drivers License with acceptable driving record and ability to travel on occasion
Candidates MUST be able to pass a drug and alcohol test
