Kanuka Thuringer LLP is now seeking a Legal Assistant in our Financial Services/Business department. This position, together with another legal assistant, supports seven lawyers in the following areas of law: business law, corporate finance, mergers & acquistions, commercial transactions, intellectual property, financial regulations, bankruptcies, and restructuring & general insolvency.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a legal assistant or equivalent clerical or administrative experience.
If you are a self-motivated, highly organized team player with strong attention to detail, strong computer and verbal and written communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task, this position offers the opportunity to do interesting work in a fast-paced, professional environment.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
-preparation of legal documents, letters, and memoranda
-organizing and maintaining electronic and paper files
-conducting web searches
-communicating with clients, lawyers, and other staff members
-transcribing documents from dictation
-juggling numerous tasks in order to meet deadlines
