Description

Accountable to the Associate Vice-President, Financial Services (AVP, FS) this director is responsible for the overall management of Saskatchewan Polytechnics client support and financial analysis, and ancillary services areas.

These main areas of accountability include the following:
    Client Support and Financial Analysis - accountable for all processes related to the creation and communication of financial information used by management to plan, evaluate and control Saskatchewan Polytechnics resources;
    Ancillary Services  include print shops and bookstores which provide comprehensive and important services required to support students and staff at the four campus locations and also to remote off-campus/online clientele.  Annual printshop impressions exceed 24 million with sales of approximately $1.6 million and the annual bookstore sales are approximately $6.8 million with over 170,000 transactions.

The incumbent contributes significantly to the accountability of Saskatchewan Polytechnic, the Saskatchewan Polytechnic board of directors, and stakeholders through the development of a coordinated effort with respect to Saskatchewan Polytechnics short and long term financial planning issues and plans.

The incumbent contributes to the continuous improvement of the Financial Services Division by providing expertise and project management in the areas of financial planning, ancillary and financial management information systems.

The position is privy to senior management information and decisions prior to them becoming public knowledge.
