The Working General Foreman is responsible for managing construction work on-site, including contract administration, quality control, planning, and accident prevention. He/She is responsible for monitoring and reporting on the progress of the project and ensuring the project is completed safely, on time, within budget, according to quality standards and other contractual obligations.
Requirements
-8 to 10 years of progressively responsible experience in the construction industry, of which 3+ years must be in site supervision and crew supervision
-Post-secondary education in a related discipline (trades, engineering technology, construction management, etc.) will be an asset
-Technical competence with an in depth knowledge of design and construction processes and terms
-Experience preparing and managing construction documents
-Steel-framed, fabric-covered buildings installation experience is an asset.
-Valid Drivers License and an acceptable drivers abstract
-Additional certifications (CSTS, LSE, First Aid, equipment operations, etc.)will be an asset
Work Conditions
-This is a primarily a job-site based position ranging from relatively short (3-5 days) to extended
durations of up to a year in length.
-Work hours will be based on customer site requirements with most sites operating 10 to 12 hour
days, 7 days per week
-Must be able to travel and be on site for extended periods (up to 3 weeks at a time)
