Description

The IT Application Analyst works directly with the Technical Services Manager, Application & Development Services Team Lead, Operational Business Analyst, & Project Coordinator, to monitor & maintain enterprise direction regarding Branch system functionality & services. They will ensure that the data, applications & software systems used in the emergency response system are maintained according to public safety standards. They are responsible for enterprise, commercial Off-The-Shelf & internally developed application software support for the Provincial Emergency Communication Centre (PECC) environment including internal & external users.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist in the design, implementation & support of the enterprise applications within the PECC & EMFS branch operating environments.
Act as 2nd level system application support for software systems, aiding the Infrastructure Support team with application support issues.
Participate in & aid in the development of a tiered helpdesk support model.
Perform configuration updates & changes to applications and systems based on operational needs.
Design, develop & support in-house applications used to support specific needs within the operational work-units.
In the absence of the CAD System Administrator, aid in the design, support & implementation of Intergraph CAD modules or systems.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

A Diploma or certificate in a related Information Technology field & five years of related experience is required. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered;
Working knowledge of Windows 7, Microsoft Office Suite, IP Networking, Windows Server platforms; Good working knowledge of MS-SQL Server or other RDBMS;
Experience working with modern scripting and development toolsets.
