Description

We are currently hiring residential support workers for individuals with autism or dual diagnosis to provide care, learning and programming in a residential environment. Were seeking caring individuals to assist our residents with learning new skills, developing increased independence, and having support in a positive, safe and inclusive home environment. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide person-centered support to residents
Design, implement and monitor progress of daily living, employment and recreational programs consistent with Individual Support Plans;
Assist residents in community participation & outings
Work collaboratively with the team to develop best care standards and individual support plans;
Educate residents in the area of: self-care, meals, employment, community activities & maintaining a clean home environment
Develop positive relationships with the persons family, employers, community members, and other professionals involved
Demonstrate a caring, supportive approach that maintains dignity and integrity of people receiving services
Demonstrate initiative, be resourceful and creative
Follow daily routines and schedules

Qualifications:
Completed a diploma or degree in a related discipline from a recognized post-secondary educational institution
Excellent knowledge and understanding of autism and strategies to support individuals
Experience working with people who have autism or a cognitive disability
Experience/education in mental health  Mental Health First Aide training is a strong asset
Certification in CPR/First Aid and Crisis Prevention and Intervention or must obtain certification within a 3-months
Clean Vulnerable Sector Police Check
Valid drivers license with clean abstract & reliable transportation
12 hour shifts, days or evenings and weekends
