Description

The Community Kitchen Program is a nutrition based program teaching and supporting community members in preparing healthy and nutritious meals for themselves and their families.
This program is offered in small groups. Participants are taught nutrition, hygiene, economical shopping and cooking techniques. The Community Kitchens Coordinator would be responsible for the planning and implementation of the curriculum.

Applicant must be people orientated, open to work with a diverse population
Must have cooking experience- cooking for large numbers would be an asset but not necessary
Must be organized and able to work with minimal supervision
Duties include planning and coordinating a minimum of 3 community kitchen programs per week.
Each kitchen is allotted 6 hours for the prep time and implementation of the kitchen.
This position is flexible but will require applicants to work a variety of mornings and evenings
Hold a valid drivers license and be insurable to $1,000,000.00
Hold an up-to-date CPR and First Aid certificate
Hold a Food Safe Certificate
Able to lift 50 lbs minimum
Able to communicate effectively both orally and in written format
Ability to be flexible and compassionate to the participants of the programs
Ability to work without constant supervision
Participates in staff workshops and professional development where applicable
Additional Requirements
Must submit a completed Criminal Record Check and CPIC

This is a maternity leave position beginning in  September going till June.
