The Cree Nations Treatment Haven is currently looking for a Matrix Coordinator position. Priority will be given to First Nations. Under the direction and reporting to the Director, they will assume the following duties:
-Ensure all components of the MATRIX program are delivered in an effective manner in accordance with the Cree Nations Treatment Haven Procedures Manual.
-Provide individual and con-joint counselling to MATRIX program clients and members of their family.
-Perform ASI/DENS computerized treatment planning and sererity assessments on all program clients
-Ensure all clients receive an initial orientation session explaining all aspects of the MATRIX program, and that all forms are filled out and signed.
-Maintain individual client files and update progress notes after each counselling schedule.
-Ensure alcolhol, drug, and adulteration tests are preformed on a regular basis according to MATRIX program protocol.
-Link up clients with co-concurring disorders, or those requiring family therapy, to the appropriate agency or professional.
-Prepare MATRIX program client discharge summary reports and send to referral agents.
QUALIFICATIONS
-Degree or diploma in addiction studies, social work practice or human sciences. Minimun of 2 years experience in addiction counselling, group work, public presentations, client assessment, treatment planning and referral of clients. A good comprehension of self-help groups such as AA, AI AI-Anon, NA and the role of cultural/tradition practices in healing and recovery. Have a genuine interest to encourage confidence in people to improve their well-being. Drug and alcohol free of all chemical addictions a minimum of 2 years. A valid drivers license with a clear driving abstract.
