Employment as a Medical Office Assistant (MOA), is primarily to function as a physician's secretary. This involves greeting patients at reception, booking/scheduling appointments, answering/making calls and sending faxes on behalf of the doctor. Assistance is required during sensitive clinic procedures (Paps/breast exams) and for patient exams (collection of weight/height, urine/pregnancy testing, blood glucose etc.) Inventory/medical supply management and assistance with billing/invoices is also regularly done. The applicant will be required to coordinate/schedule minor surgery's with OR scheduling on a regular basis.
Medical/office experience is preferred but not necessary. On the job training (starting mid August)will be used to fill any gaps in knowledge/skills.
