Good Spirit School Division (GSSD) is currently hiring one (1) summer student position in the Facilities Department who will work 40 hours per week over the summer months from July 2, 2019 - August 30, 2019. The schedule will be Monday - Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a 30 minute lunch break or as otherwise scheduled. Rest periods will be scheduled in accordance with the out-of-scope employee handbook.
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the position is responsible for:
Assisting with facility maintenance projects.
Participating in demolition and installation of equipment within division buildings.
Cleaning and moving furniture between locations.
Other duties as assigned.
To be eligible to apply for these positions, you must meet the following criteria:
Minimum Grade 9 education or equivalent.
Clear Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check. This must be submitted in order to be considered for this position in accordance with our Administrative Procedure 400 Criminal Record Checks.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks as needed, including lifting and moving of furniture.
Self-motivated individual capable of working in a team environment.
Your hourly rate will be $15/hour with an opportunity to join the Municipal Employees Pension Plan if chosen.
