Description

The Materials Handler organizes and categorizes incoming & expedites nonfood reclamation competently for the Regina Food Bank.

Essential Functions:
Must be trustworthy individual
Ability to work independently
Maintain specific processes in place within the program
Willing to operate forklift or pass accredited course an asset but not requirement
Work with other agencies and not-for-profits for redistribution of nonfood
Provide outstanding customer service to internal and external customers
Establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, subordinates, contractors and vendors
Understand policies and procedures, make rational decisions/recommendations in accordance with established policy
Work in a safe manner and report unsafe activities and conditions.
Foster teamwork and actively participate on teams

Duties and Responsibilities:
Attend and/or present at relevant trade shows, fairs and organizations
Oversee volunteer compliance with policies and procedures
Maintains a daily schedule and a clean work environment

Required Skills:
Ability to connect with others and forge strong relationships
Ability to perform several tasks, time management and organizational skills
Ability to support, network and motivate staff, volunteers and clientele
Ability to maintain confidential information
Ability to perform light to medium physical demands of product placement on shelves and sorting products of (25 to 50 pounds)
Ability to perform repetative lifting and sorting and other repetative physical demands over several hours
Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
Ability to meet deadlines and changing priorities
Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
