Description

The primary responsibility of the Coordinator is to promote gender and racial equity for Indigenous woman through organizational impact, specifically, evaluating and adapting provision of pre-existing programs and services. In addition securing new funding for SIMFCs operations and programs.
Responsibilities/Activities
o    Offer culturally competent services
o    Assess project risks/issues and provide solutions
o    Develop a GBA+ training module and facilitate training sessions
o    Planning/coordination of Gender-Based programs/services/strategies
o    Assist in the utilization of a measurable outcomes tool, evaluation and adaptations of the tool to adequately address the organization and service users
o    Maintain statistics, reporting, confidentiality and abide by guidelines and policies
o    Develop a hard copy of program information including pamphlets, statistics and written reports
o    Develop/maintain supervision and evaluations of programs, services, staff and outcomes
o    Collaborating with stakeholders
o    Writing/submitting/managing grant proposals
o    Hours of work vary including occasional evening and weekend shifts
Qualifications
o    Knowledge of relevant legislation/policies/procedures
o    Knowledge of Indigenous culture/history
o    Proficiency in Microsoft Office/database applications
o    A clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Clearance
o    Have valid drivers licence/access to vehicle
o    Undergraduate degree of Indigenous Social Work, Social Work or other related degree, or a combination of work experience and post secondary education in a related field
o    2-3 years experience in a similar role and/or working knowledge of the dynamics of gender and racial disparities and other social issues
o    Facilitate the development of logic models and other measurable outcome tools into workplans
o    Previous experience will demonstrate a proven track record in securing new funding opportunities
