Description

The Town of La Ronge invites applications for the position of Community Programmer. This position will assist in the development and implementation of marketing and promotion strategies for the Town of La Ronge. This position will provide community event planning and promotion.
Primary responsibilities include:
Assess, plan, develop, implement and evaluate community based sport, culture & recreational programs, activities and community special events for all ages.
Develop, write, edit and produce promotional materials to create public awareness of programs;
assist in the day to day operations of the Parks & Rec. Department;
support and liaison with the Northern Community & School Recreation Coordinator Program
Prepare and administrate contracts for facility rentals and program instructors.
Preparation of grants & reports
Facilitate an ongoing planning process in partnership with the Manager of Parks & Recreation to ensure a strong strategic direction;
Plan, develop, implement & evaluate recreational programming as required
Qualifications:
A minimum of two (2) years experience in the parks and recreation field, or equivalent experience. A diploma or degree in recreation or satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and experience. This position will require strong interpersonal skills, computer skills, leadership abilities, strategic planning & implementation skills, reporting abilities and good oral & written communication skills. Creativity, innovation and analytical thinking are essential for this position.
Special Requirements:
maintain a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Drivers license.
subject to a police criminal record check
bondable and able to receipt monies.
available to work evenings, weekends and irregular hours to accommodate groups and residents.
Required to abide and carry out the policies and direction of the Town of La Ronge.
able to work independently and with minimal supervision.
