Primary Focus
The Homemaker will provide housekeeping duties and prepare and cook meals for a 15 bed Emergency Care home for children ages 0-12. These duties aid in achieving and maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
SCHEDULE & HOURS
We are currently seeking staff that can work shift times from 11:00am to 7:00pm, Monday to Saturday.
Responsibilities
To prepare and cook for children as young as 6 months old.
Knowledge of cooking and preparing food requirements for the different ages of children.
Assist in menu planning based on the Canada Food Guide.
Must account for what goes into a meal to ensure the safety of the children and their possible restrictions. Recognize the diet restrictions that may apply.
Shopping for groceries as needed.
Household cleaning and sanitation.
Laundry
Understanding of the needs of children the ages of 0-12.
Conscience of the hazards in the home environment and to act accordingly in meeting safety and protection needs of the children in the home.
QUALIFICATIONS
Completion of Food Safety course is a must.
First Aid/CPR
Experience preparing and cooking for children 6 months - 12 years, especially with large groups.
Kitchen/restaurant experience would is considered an asset.
Drivers licence and access to a reliable vehicle is considered an asset.
Knowledge of safety requirements for younger children.
A satisfactory Criminal Record Check including the Vulnerable Sector Search that is valid within 3-6 months.
