Description

Position: Digital Communications Officer
Direct Supervisor: Director of Communications

Digital Communications Officers are responsible for preparing a high volume of visually appealing materials for Saskatchewan Party Members of the Legislative Assembly, assisting them in communicating with their constituents and the public in a variety of manners, primarily using digital and new media.

They must possess strong communication skills (visual, verbal, and written), stay up to date with emerging media and related content and be able to assist in the creation of media products to facilitate interaction between MLAs and their constituents.

The successful applicants duties will include:

Graphic and Creative Design
    Design creative and innovative materials for written, audio/visual, and online delivery.
    Be able to develop graphically-appealing material with consistent branding and theme.
    Tailor high-quality designs to a variety of online media.

Photography and/or Videography
    Prepare proper sound and lighting requirements for particular scene shooting.
    Undertake editing of photography.
    Tape high definition video using semi-professional equipment.
    Work with raw camera footage, dialogue, and sound.
    Post-production editing with Adobe or Apple editing creative suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, InDesign, After Effects, Lightroom, iMovie, Final Cut.

Website and Social Media management
    Monitor and provide content for social media and websites.
    Manage and assist with social media pages and ads for MLAs.
    Work with hosting companies to update website content.

A portfolio of past work relating to photography/video production, copywriting and design, and social media/website management would be considered a strong asset in the application process.

Past experience in politics or other high-pressure environments will also be considered an asset.
