Work for HCC Mining and Demolition!
Journeyperson Welders & Apprentices
Details:
Underground Mining Work
Shut Down Work
Journeyman Welders, but will consider apprentice with experience
Starting Wage: To be discussed (dependent on experience)
12-hour shifts
Duties and Responsibilities:
Determine required equipment and welding method, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry and welding techniques.
Use manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal pieces using processes such as gas tungsten arc (TIG or GTAW), gas metal arc (MIG or GMAW), flux-cored arc (FAW), plasma arc (PAW), shielded metal arc (SMAW), oxy-acetylene (OAW), resistance welding and submerged arc welding (SAW).
Weld components in flat, vertical, overhead and any "out-of-position" angle.
Apply advanced skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment as appropriate to area of specialization.
Repair worn parts of metal products.
Perform all work in compliance with established safety procedures and codes.
Duties as they may arise that would fulfill the mandate of providing excellent service to the client
Qualifications:
Certified Journeyman Welder (Red Seal Certification is an asset).
Minimum of 3-5 years of welding experience.
Mining experience is considered an asset.
Ability to read and interpret blue prints.
Experienced Fabrication welding required.
Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), FCAW considered an asset
Pre-Employment Requirements:
Mining Experience
Passing of the Pre-employment drug test
Must be eligible to work in all mines in Saskatoon area
Must be CWB SMAW qualified
Fall Arrest Trained (Must be Valid)
General Mine Awareness Training considered an asset
Man Lift training, Skid Steer/Telehandler training considered an asset.
