SaskTel International is looking for two Fibre Consultants!

The Fibre Inventory Consultant is responsible to enter telecommunications fibre plant resources into a facilities and assignment database.

Successful candidates will join an experienced team who will mentor and train them.  Knowledge of optical telecommunications networks and equipment is required.  An engineering degree or certificate is a plus.


Position Overview:

1. Reads, interprets and understands facilities based on engineering diagrams or maps to perform accurate and detailed inventory of outside fibre plant records into a facilties and assignment database.
2. Provide technical assistance and support to various departments.
3. Maintain a history file to provide facilities with a background of all active jobs.
4. Build, correct, maintain and update records in inventory database. Review as built construction plans received after work order completion and makes necessary corrections to the database.
5. Investigates discrepancies between database records and permanent plant location records and makes required corrections

Qualifications:

1. Level 30 Math or post secondary schooling in a technical field
2. Keyboarding skills 20 wpm
3. Knowledge of Access Network plans, symbols, and design procedures
4. Knowledge of computers and various software applications
