Description

TCU Place is looking for a dynamic, energetic leader to join the team as a Sales Representative.  

The Sales Representative identifies and targets accounts to generate meeting and convention sales for TCU Place.

Responsibilities

Initiates new sales by regularly contacting, and prospecting, potential clients within assigned sales markets, by telephone and in person.
Contacts potential clients, via cold calling, to seek out new business opportunities in the areas of meetings, banquets, tradeshows, conferences, theatre sales and other hospitality functions.
Establishes and maintains professional relationships with client representatives from various industries to attract and retain new business for TCU Place.
Creates sales proposals and responds to RFPs.  Creates bids and sales presentations for the purpose of acquiring new business for TCU Place.
Negotiates fees and contract conditions with potential clients.
Reserves and contracts out meeting rooms in the facility to ensure optimal use of space and revenue.
Uses creative ideas to discover new events, programs, or projects and increase revenue streams and capitalize on market segment opportunities.
Attending evening client events and travel will be required in this position

QUALIFICATIONS:
Successful completion of a recognized post-secondary business administration program, which includes courses in marketing and communications.
Four years direct sales experience in the hospitality industry, including one year of hotel, meeting room or convention sales experience.  Experience in regional and local corporate sales would be an asset
Knowledge of current procedures and methods for designing, developing and implementing advertising and marketing plans, materials and strategies.
Demonstrated skill in the use of a computer with Microsoft Office applications.
