Description

The Environmental Coordinator will provide technical support to the project team as the environmental impact assessment process advances for the Wheeler River Project.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:
An understanding of environmental impact assessment process with:
o Direct work experience on a recent environmental impact assessment,
o Familiarity on meaningful incorporation of Indigenous Knowledge into environmental impact assessments, and
o A general understanding of mining and mineral processing concepts, and a basic understanding of feasibility studies.
Working knowledge of provincial and federal environmental legislation.
Experience with ArcGIS or other spatial mapping tools would be considered an asset.
A commitment to Health and Safety as well as environmental sustainability.
Excellent communication skills including the ability to write clear and concise reports and to present technical information in an understandable format to non-technical audiences.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate ongoing environmental baseline data collection programs and lead internal data management.
Provide field support for environmental baseline programs, as required.
Assist in drafting the Wheeler River Project environmental impact statement.
Liaise and coordinate with external environmental consultants on both baseline data collection and the environmental impact assessment, as required.
Research and write reports on various environmental topics of relevance to Wheeler River Project development.
Provide technical support for community engagement events.
Support Indigenous Knowledge collection and meaningful integration into various aspects of the Wheeler River Project.
Contribute to the establishment of an Environmental Management System.

This role will be based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and will require travel to the Wheeler River Project site located in northern Saskatchewan.
