Prairie Valley School Division invites applications for a 1.0 FTE Consultant, Indigenous Education commencing August 26, 2019.

The ideal candidate will have diverse experiences and expertise in Indigenous educational programming, curricula and assessment.  In addition, the ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership, collaboration and consultation skills with which to build productive educational partnerships with area First Nations for the benefit of all students.

Through accessible, timely and effective support, the Indigenous Education Consultant builds the capacity of classroom teachers with in-class modelling, collegial mentoring and coaching. This role supports school teams in embedding indigenous ways of knowing and content as well as implementing Treaty Education.  Other responsibilities include supporting Following Their Voices, promoting land-based learning programming, organizing in-school elders and knowlege keeprs and linking schools with local community resource people.
  
The successful candidate must hold a Saskatchewan Professional "A" teaching certificate and have successful teaching experience at the elementary and/or secondary levels.   Preference will be given to candidates who possess excellent networking and relationship skills. This position is based out of the Education Centre. Travel within the division is required; system fleet vehicles are available or mileage is paid for use of a personal vehicle. The successful candidate will receive a 10% Consultant allowance, in addition to their regular salary, as per the LINC Agreement.
