SIGN is a family and community service agency, which develops and delivers services to enhance the quality of life for individuals and groups in the Yorkton area.   The SIGN Yorkdale BAS Program is looking for an After School Program Assistant who is passionate and driven to inspire childhood development, learning and support.    The hours of work are 7:30 to 8:30 am and 3:00 to 5:45 pm Monday to Friday on student days only.
Summary
The Before & After School Program Assistant, under the direction of the Before & After School Program Manager will primarily be responsible to assist with the delivery of safe, engaging and stimulating activities for the children attending the program.  This role will also use effective interpersonal skills to provide hands on leadership related to games and activities including set up and cleanup of activities.
Duties Include:
    Act as a positive role model
    Maintain a safe, clean, welcoming, and positive environment at all times
    Monitor the safety of children and address any issues relating to harassment, bullying, or discrimination
    Assist with the preparation of daily snacks
    Hands on leadership related to games and activities
    Provide children with moral support and encouragement
    Engage with the children at all times, through play, conversation and observation
    Set up and cleanup of activities on a daily basis
    Ensure that safe work practices are being followed

Qualifications:
    Training and experience in education at the early years level would be an asset
    Clean criminal record and vulnerable sector check
    Valid CPR and First Aid C would be an asset
    Available to work 7:30 to 8:30 am 3:00 to 5:30 pm Monday to Friday on student days only
