The Metis Addictions Council is an affiliate of the Metis Nation - Saskatchewan and is a non-profit corporation providing alcohol and drug services and counselling programs to Saskatchewan residents
Reporting to the Executive Director of the Metis Addictions Council, the Director of Program and Services is an out-of-scope position based in Saskatoon with regular travel to other locations in the province. The incumbent will research program models and approaches and incorporate best practices within the MACSI treatment model. The Director of Programming will work closely with Regional Managers and program delivery staff to ensure a consistent and high quality service is provided through providing and arranging staff training, developing standards and evaluating practice. This position will also be familiar with funding opportunities to support the work of the Metis Addictions Council.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
University degree or diploma in social sciences such as Psychology, Social Work, Addictions Counselling or an equivalent combination of five (5) years experience and education in an addiction, social or health-related field;
Sound knowledge of counselling theory, human behaviour, alcohol, drug and solvent abuse;
Experience in addictions treatment including individual, group counselling and prevention work;
Experience in the provision clinical supervision and program auditing;
Extensive experience in program planning, staff development and community/government relations;
Knowledge of funding sources related to health and addictions services available at the Federal and Provincial government levels;
Familiarity or experience in case management software considered an asset
Excellent knowledge of Metis and First Nations communities and cultures as well as traditional healing approaches;
Ability to produce a current CPIC and Enhanced Security Clearance;
Hold a valid drivers license and ability to travel
