The Saskatchewan Research Councils (SRC) Mining and Energy Division has immediate openings for Lab Assistants. SRC Geoanalytical Laboratories works closely with mining companies in the gold, base metals, uranium and diamond sectors. We are looking for entry-level employees to work in our sample preparation area. These are one-year term positions with the possibility of extension.
Accountabilities
Perform rock/mineral sample preparation as part of a larger team process to conduct laboratory analysis for our mining and minerals clients
Skills
No experience required; all necessary training will be provided
Good work ethic and must be reliable
Able to work in a fast-paced, repetitive environment
Requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age
The use of safety equipment (e.g., ear plugs, footwear, lab coats, dust masks and safety glasses) is required and will be provided
Some heavy lifting (up to 30 kg) and work in a dusty environment will be required
Hours of work: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. 4:30 p.m. (paid overtime may be available)
