Description

Provides coordination and administrative services for the Finance department. This position reports to a Provincial Manager of Finance Services or may provide administrative support other health professionals as required.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
Grade 12
Office Education/Secretarial certificate plus completion of a Medical Terminology course (OR) Medical Office Assistant certificate

Skills:
Competent in the use of computers and Microsoft applications.
Some Judgment and problem solving skills are required to select the most appropriate action from a limited number of alternatives.
Ability to manage multiple tasks in various stages of completion according to priorities.
Ability to interpret detailed information and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Human relations skills required to empathize with complaints and/or concerns and establish rapport with patients, the public and other staff.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workload.
Creative ability in developing layouts for reports, presentations, information bulletins, etc.
Ability to work independently.
Maintain confidentiality.
Ability to operate all types of office equipment.
Ability to conduct literature searches for specified information.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES:
Prepares visual aids for instructional and documentary purposes (transparencies, slides and/or PowerPoint presentations).
Records minutes at meetings.
Performs payroll duties (eg. distributes payroll timesheets/earnings statements and payroll data entry.
Schedules meetings and books rooms, equipment, teleconferences, videoconferences etc.
Coordinates travel/accommodation for external meetings/conferences by contacting travel agencies, confirming reservations, and establishing an itinerary as required.
Maintains filing system for department or program.
