The Adoption Support Centre of Saskatchewan (ASCS) is seeking a term, part-time Administrative Assistant. This position will be a maximum of 21 hours per week. Our ideal candidate will be a professional, organized, team-oriented, and friendly individual who is driven to provide excellent administrative support in our office and to our clients.
Duties Include:
-Office reception, answering and directing calls; Scheduling appointments
-Electronic (MS Access database) and hard-copy management of client files; Data entry including statistics; experience with Publisher and Graphic Design
-Processing payments and receipts; Preparing and mailing information packages, letters, and library mail-outs; Assisting in newsletter creation, printing, and mass e-mailing; Light cleaning duties; Assisting in supporting DAO, YSO and PRIDE programs as required.
Qualifications:
-Proficiency in PC computers, typing, Windows OS, Microsoft Office Suite (word, excel etc), E-mail, and internet usage
-Excellent communication and customer service skills
-Eye for detail, grammar, proof-reading, and accurate data entry
-Relevant post-secondary education (administration, human services, social sciences) is an asset
-Effective time-management skills
-Professional, ethical, and capable of maintaining client confidentiality
-Interest in potentially assisting with support groups, youth groups, or providing basic information services to clients is an asset
-Previous work and/or volunteer experience in Office Administration or Human Services & Community Development is a definite asset
ASCS is a small, non-profit, community-based organization that provides education, information, and support services around adoption. Our office hours are Monday to Friday, 9:30AM to 4:30PM.
