Description

The System Support Technician will be a member of a team of professionals in the Information Systems department.  Primary responsibility for the position will be in providing technical support for computers, peripherals, VoIP telephones and network systems used in the school division.  This position will support a subset of schools and provide desk-side support and rotation through Help Desk duties.

Reporting to the I.S. Supervisor - Technical Operations and Support, the successful applicant will have Grade XII, plus graduation from a recognized one or two year technical school program in computer science, information technology, or electronics technology.  Extensive knowledge of computer hardware and operating systems software, including Microsoft Windows Desktop OS and Microsoft server OS is required.  Knowledge and experience in local area and wide area networking and TCP/IP is also required.  Two years of previous directly related experience is desirable.  A valid drivers license and access to a vehicle for work is required.
