Child and Youth Mental Health Trauma Therapist
Lac La Ronge Indian Band Health Services Prevention and Recovery Program, is looking for a highly skilled, experienced and enthusiastic Mental Health professional to provide direct clinical service, outreach and case management to children/youth ages 0-18 and their families under our Jordons Principal Program Child and youth Holistic and Culturally Responsive Mental Health Services.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties
Extensive experience in counseling survivors of sexual abuse; residential school survivors and their families
Extensive knowledge of family violence treatment, Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), trauma treatment and processing of negative emotions, sexual abuse assessments and therapeutic interventions.
Provide trauma-focused counseling and trauma recovery therapeutic services for children, youth and adults for sexual abuse, severe physical abuse, and/or witnessing violence.
Provide trauma-focused counseling and trauma recovery therapy services for children, youth and adults with Post Traumatic Stress (PTS) relating to unresolved trauma emotionally, mentally and physically and the spiritual effects of trauma on the individual.
Ability to make appropriate assessments and treatment plans based on a holistic approach, evaluate treatment progress and outcomes make appropriate referrals as required
Facilitate support and therapy groups for children, youth and non-offending caregivers
Evaluate needs of the child and family and provide appropriate referrals and information
Maintain accurate and timely case notes and record of all client contacts
Provide accurate statistical reports monthly
Work closely with other Multidisciplinary team members to provide support for children, youth and families.
Perform other duties within the scope of this position as assigned by the Program Coordinator
