Duties & Expectations:
1.The Assistant Daycare Director will supervise a staff of 10-12 employees, including the Floor Supervisor (when applicable), offering help, assistance, and encouragement where and when needed.
2.The Assistant Daycare Director will be the primary contact for parents/caregivers dropping off and picking up their children. The ADD will address any questions or concerns they may have.
3.The Assistant Daycare Director will be the primary daycare representative at and for all parent advisory committees.
4.From time to time, given various situations and circumstances the Assistant Daycare Director may have additional interaction with a variety of Social Service agencies, including emergency services such as the police, fire, and or ambulance services.
5.The Assistant Daycare Director will adhere to all Provincial Ministry requirements in terms of policies and procedures with respect to the care and supervision of the children in the daycare.
6.The ADD will respond directly to all major incidents and will follow up with any required investigations. They will inform the Director of Childcare Services of any such occurrences, providing a detailed report
to them as well.
7.The Assistant Daycare Director will assist the DOCCS (Daycare Director) in a variety of administrative functions as they relate directly to the daycare.
8.The Assistant Daycare Director will assist the DOCCS with the enrollment of children.
9.At the request of and in conjunction with the Director of Child Care Services; the ADD may be asked to partake in the hiring, coaching, progressive discipline and termination of the daycare employees.
10.The Assistant Daycare Director will be called upon to fill in for the DOCCS in potential times of absence such as sickness, bereavement leave, vacation, etc. .
