We are seeking a High School Teacher, Generalist for the Nakoda Oyade Education Center (NOEC) teaching primarily grade 9 students. Providing support to the instructional process by serving as a teacher with specific responsibility for supervising students within the classroom and other assigned areas; developing lesson plans and delivering group an individual student instruction within established curriculum guidelines; collaborating with other teachers, other professional staff, and administrators in addressing instructional and/or classroom issues; and responding to a wide range of inquiries from students parents or guardians regarding instructional program and student progress.
Teacher Qualifications are as listed:
Bachelor of Education from an accredited institution
Have excellent classroom management skills and ability in utilizing positive classroom/behaviour management strategies with a nurturing environment
Be willing to include Nakoda Language & Culture in classroom activities
Have respect for and a working knowledge of Canadas First Nations and be willing to implement First Nations Culture, Values and History into the curriculum
Have high standards and expectations for achievement, especially in the areas of literacy and numeracy
Accommodate and include special needs children by adjusting teaching styles and curriculum as required for inclusion (differentiated instruction)
Is actively involved in the Nakoda community. Treats all pupils, parents, guardians, and colleagues with dignity and respect. Must provide an updated Criminal Record Check that includes vulnerable sector check and Saskatchewan Teachers Certificate.
