Reporting to the Manager of Compensation, Benefit and Staffing, the Payroll Specialist is accountable for a range of complex payroll activities using an in-house HRIS computerized system. This position interprets and applies payroll and benefit related policies and procedures within a multiple unionized environment. The incumbent ensures payroll timelines are met, and legislated statutory deductions and all collective agreements are adhered to.
In this position you will work in a team environment with other Payroll Specialists to complete the bi-weekly payroll, all remittances and necessary reporting. You are also responsible for enquiries or requests for payroll related information, completion of records of employment, preparation of T4s and validating all employee data entered into the HRIS system.
