POSITION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a member of the technical services department, you will report to the chief engineer, electrical and instrumentation. You will provide electrical engineering and design support in preparation of key electrical engineering project documents including drawings, specifications, data sheets, bid and construction documents. In addition to performing electrical design you will be responsible for scope development, planning, and capital cost estimating aspects of the project and provide technical oversight of the work completed by outside engineering consultants.
You are responsible for ensuring that the design work is done in accordance with Camecos processes, procedures, standards and regulatory requirements. You will also be responsible for developing and integrating electrical design standards for use on all major projects and mentoring junior electrical engineers and designers. This position will require you to work both on a team and independently.
Education and Qualifications
Requirements of the position:
Bachelors degree in electrical engineering
Seven to 12 years of progressive experience in field of electrical engineering design in process or mining operations
Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered
Current (or eligible for) registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS)
Full working knowledge in various fields of electrical engineering, including high and medium voltage installations, proficiency with ETAP, feasibility studies & detail design and the application of CSA M421
Assets:
Current registration with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO)
Surface and underground mining experience
Excellent communication, strong problem solving skills and ability to prioritize work
