Description

Reporting to the Manager, Employee and Labour Relations, this position's primary responsibility is to recruit, screen and select candidates to fill open positions within the organization. Responsibilities also include classification, orientation and policy development, as well as a range of human resource responsibilities to support the corporation's needs.

What You'll Do:
- Manage the recruitment process, including working with managers to address vacancy management, developing recruitment postings, interview guides, and assessment tools and facilitating the interview/offer process.
- Facilitate new employee first day orientation process and provide support and recommendations to managers regarding probationary periods.
- Complete job classifications of in-scope positions.
- Provide advice and guidance to managers regarding collective agreement and policy interpretation, as well as performance management and sensitive personnel issues.
- Research and develop policies for the Human Resources Policy Manual.
- Provide advice and guidance to employees and managers regarding workplace issues.
- Provide support to employees and managers on workplace accommodation.
- Provide leadership to employees, managers and divisions to ensure benefit plans and relocation benefits are understood.

What You'll Need:
To be successful in this position you will need a degree or diploma in Human Resources, supplemented with three to five years' related experience in HR, ideally in a unionized setting.
- Working knowledge of human resources practices and principles.
- Ability to accurately interpret and apply Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) language, policies, procedures and practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with solid business acumen.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain healthy work relationships.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work independently.
