Description

Reporting to the Vice President, Corporate Services, an employee in this job will align technology vision with business strategy by integrating company processes with the appropriate technologies. The Director will also be responsible for all aspects of investigation, development, implementation of Information Technology, Information Management, and Geomatics / GIS initiatives within the organization. This employee will ensure that all Business Information & Technology Systems (BITS) unit activities support WSA business operations and improve cost effectiveness, service quality and business development.

This position will oversee translation of business objectives to technical solutions.  Sanction and oversee business enablement projects through life cycle and lead strategic technological planning to achieve business goals.  Develop IT strategic and operational plans and oversee infrastructure of technology operations within all functional areas consistent with established parameters.  Actively participate on strategic management team in steering and recommending proactive and reactive solutions for challenges.

This position will also oversee the management of the BITS unit comprised of operations, business enablement and geographic information systems. Provide vison and leadership to employees including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, performance and development, evaluation, and disciplinary actions.

The successful candidate shall possess a Degree in Computer Science or similar discipline preferably combined with an MBA and a minimum of 10 years of progressively more responsible directly related experience in leading/directing IT departments.
