The Saskatchewan Research Councils (SRC) Environment Division is seeking an experienced Technologist to join the Environmental Analytical Laboratories team.
Accountabilities
Conduct routine and non-routine testing
Assist in developing written protocols and more efficient methods
Ensure quality assurance requirements of ISO 17025 are followed in all laboratory operations
Perform basic high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) equipment maintenance and troubleshooting; instrument-specific training is provided
Qualifications
Technical diploma or undergraduate degree in chemistry with 3 - 5 years experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field
Experience in method development
Practical knowledge of HPLC and gas chromatography
Experience in cannabis analysis is an asset
Skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Ability to use innovative solutions and creative thinking to solve laboratory problems and improve processes
The chosen candidate will be required to provide an original Criminal Record Check that is satisfactory to SRC prior to the commencement of any employment duties. The Criminal Record Check must have been executed within the preceding 30 days of receipt.
