The Saskatchewan Foster Families Association exists to support and encourage foster families through education and advocacy, helping create healthy homes, positive environments, and brighter futures for children and youth in care across the province.
The Saskatchewan Foster Families Association is looking for a childcare support worker to assist a family in Prince Albert. Applicants must possess 2 years of experience working in a childcare setting, or be experienced in running a household with varying ages from 18 months to 16 years. Applicants must also be open to providing cleaning support as required.
This position will be approximately 20 hours per week and may include daytime, evening and weekend support.
Duties may include but are not limited to:
- Assistance with after school/ evening routine: homework, reading, assistance with hygiene, tending to the emotional needs of the children as required; Assistance with encouraging life skills such as cooking, and reinforcing responsibilities and chores.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age
- Youth Care Diploma or Early Childhood Education Diploma is considered an asset; Experience will also be considered with references
- Demonstrate and practice a healthy lifestyle
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with children, supervisors, and partnering agencies and maintain strict confidentiality and appropriate boundaries
- Ability to express ideas and concepts effectively in an oral and written form
- Criminal Record Check (Within 3 Months)
Salary for this position is $14 to $19 per hour dependent on experience.
