Job Description: The Regional Dietitian is responsible for providing consultative, counseling, teaching and education services to individuals, community groups, health professionals and other professional groups to improve and protect the nutritional status of the regional population.  She/he is also responsible for clinical nutrition assessment and intervention including formulating, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating nutritional care plans for those in hospital and within the health region.

Education:
-    A Baccalaureate degree in Nutrition with a major in Foods and Nutrition, Dietetics
-    Successful completion of a Dietitians of Canada (DC) approved internship or equivalent
-    Must be registered with the Saskatchewan Dietetic Association and the Dietitians of Canada

Experience:
-    No previous experience required

Other:
-    Member of the Community and District Dietitians Working Group of Saskatchewan
-    Member of the Diabetes Educator Sector of the Canadian Diabetes Association
-    Ability to travel to remote communities on gravel roads and in light aircraft on a regular basis
-    Valid Saskatchewan Drivers License

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
-    Ability to work with other team members in the care of clients with diabetes
-    Ability to work independently, be highly self-motivated and well organized
-    Thorough knowledge and proficiency in nutrition care
-    Demonstrate ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment
-    Demonstrate commitment to community based health care and knowledge of community based services
-    Knowledge and sensitivity to the impact of social, economic, environmental and cultural issues in diet and nutrition
-    Strong interpersonal and communication skills  oral as well as written
-    Maintain professional competency through networking with peers and other
