Description

CLSI is now accepting applications for an Electrical Engineer. Reporting to the Electrical Engineering Lead, the Electrical Engineer will be responsible for supporting the technical design, implementation, and maintenance of systems for the CLS facility. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and will possess the ability to effectively communicate and function as part of a highly skilled engineering group.

Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed electrical designs (process and instrumentation diagrams, single line diagrams, detailed schematics, PLC logic and code, panel schedules, and installation plans) to support the design and development of accelerators, beamlines, and facility services.
- Areas of design work will include electrical power distribution, motion control of precision equipment, PLC based control systems, lighting, writing specifications for tender documents, specifying equipment and initiating purchase orders, ensuring compliance with the Canadian Electrical Code, National Building Code, and other related codes and standards.
- Participate in many aspects of synchrotron design, modernization, operations, and maintenance.
- Prepare work plans, schedules, and cost estimates for assigned tasks and ensures timely completion.
- Prepares written documentation such as specifications, procedures, reports, drawings and other technical documentation.

Qualifications:
- University degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of two years relevant post-degree engineering work experience.
- Eligible for professional membership in the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS).
- Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards for electrical design.
