Description

Job Description: The purpose of this position is to provide leadership and oversight to two YMCA programs- Beyond the Bell Program and Youth Leadership Programs. Beyond the Bell is a literacy based program that runs out of Arcola Community School, Monday to Friday until 5:30 daily. YMCA Youth Leadership Program are provided to young people, Grades 4-12, on Wednesday and Thursday evenings at the Northwest YMCA from 6:30- 8:30 PM.  

Responsibilities:
- Proven ability to lead staff teams- this includes hiring, training, managing, mentoring, and ongoing coaching
- Leading the implementation of goals and outcomes into programming
- Executing data collection of outcomes measurements (subsequently, sense-making of the collected information and communication of program successes)
- Communicating program successes and activities (to staff, school, parents, funders and maintaining BtB Instagram account).
- Grant management (writing applications, follow-up reporting, demonstrating program impact through outcomes measurements, budget management, etc.)
- Liaison to funders and with school administration
- An ongoing attention to finding new funding sources for YMCA Community Development Programs (for Beyond the Bell, Youth Leadership Programs and Plusone Mentoring).
- Additional special projects or cross- departmental initiatives (for example- involvement in planning and executing Strong Kids Campaign Events).

Requirements:
- A Bachelor- level degree or equivalent
- Ability to work with youth is an asset, especially those demonstrating challenging behaviours
- Original Criminal record check dated within 3 months of hire
- First Aid & CPR (would be provided within 3 months of hire if needed)
- Must have a valid drivers license and access to reliable transportation
