The Saskatoon Downtown Youth Centre Inc. - EGADZ requires a Part Time Teen Parent Support Worker for our young teen mothers within My Homes and Baby steps (Shift Work Is Involved - Daytime/Evenings/Weekends)

EGADZ is an inter-agency, non-profit organization whose purpose is to provide services for hard to serve youth in Saskatoon with the mission to encourage and support them to make choices that improve their quality of life.

The Teen Parent Support Workers support our teen moms while they are residing in our My Homes and Baby steps.  They will continue ongoing support for our moms once they have transitioned to independent living.   The ideal candidate is someone who is non judgmental, compassionate and is able to build trusting relationships with youth.
Qualifications:
Early Childhood Education or Post secondary education in the human services field, equivalent experience or a combination of both
Require hands on real life experience with children and youth
Demonstrate and practice a healthy lifestyle
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with youth, staff and partnering agencies
Knowledge of other agencies and resources within our community
Basic knowledge of nutrition and values
Ability to express ideas and concepts effectively in an oral and written form
Working knowledge of computers/windows
Knowledge of Aboriginal and cultures and issues
A good understanding of Egadz and our mission
Training in CPCR and ASIST (ASIST training within the first 6 months of employment)
Must have a valid drivers license that reflects a safe driving record - A Driver's Abstract is Required.
Criminal records Check.
Ability to work shift work -days/evenings/nights as well as weekends
