Description

The Office Assistant provides support, and full back-up coverage, to the Office Manager in the day to day administration of the office and financial aspects of Porcupine Opportunities Program.

Responsibilities:

-Reception, clerical duties.
-Pick up mail/do deposits.
-Data Entry.  
-Inventory and order supplies.
-Process accounts receivable and accounts payable.
-Assist in payroll processing.
-Monthly reporting to government agencies.
-Create/update Excel spreadsheets.
-Reconcile accounts.
-Provide full back-up coverage to Office Manager  and support to General Manager.
-To work in partnership with other personnel where needed, to ensure the safety, satisfaction, and productivity of the POP participants and staff team.
-Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
-Must have experience in bookkeeping and data entry with accounting software and applications.
-Strong experience in Excel and Word.
-Payroll experience an asset.
-Proven ability to maintain strict confidentiality and demonstrate discretion.
-Filing experience.
-Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a busy work environment.
-Working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety guidelines.
-Ability to both follow instructions and to think and act independently when needed.  
-Effectively communicate with supervisors, co-workers, and program clients.

Assets (not mandatory):
-Experience working with people with disabilities.
-Training in CPR and First Aid.
