Department: Youth Downtown YMCA Director
Hours of Work & Wages:
September to April, 10 - 16 Hours/week as program needs dictate
May to August, 40 hours/week
$16.16/hour
Key Areas:
The Youth and Preschool Coordinator is responsible to undertake all necessary actions in order for Youth and Preschool programming to operate efficiently.
Plan, develop, and implement Youth/Preschool Saturday programs
Plan, develop, and implement Youth Leadership Programs
Recruit, train, support, and coach staff for all Saturday and Leadership Programs
Recruit, train, support, and coach staff for all Saturday Youth Programs
Maintain budget for program areas
Build relationships with all program participants and families
Be a strong leader, mentor and role model for participants and staff
Administration of Summer Day Camp Programs Downtown Location
Provide leadership in the implementation of activities that help promote social development, personal development, recreation, and nutrition for youth
Administration of all camper registrations
Skills Required:
Experience in program planning and implementation for children and youth ages 3-17
Experience building relationships with youth
Strong leadership and organizational skills
Supervisory experience an asset
Well-developed communication skills oral and written
Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team
Ability to handle several tasks at once and set different program priorities
Requirements and Security Clearance Check
Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Record including Vulnerable Sector Search. Additionally, current First Aid/CPR certification is required, if certification is not current the YMCA of Regina will provide the course at no cost.
