Description

David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client to recruit a Project Leader (Engineering). This is a full-time permanent opportunity with a Saskatchewan-based organization that values innovation, sustainability, and adaptability. Based 1 hour outside of a major centre, this opportunity involves extensive travel within Canada and internationally. The successful candidate will take on a leading technical role to conduct applied research and development projects as well as internal projects.

The Role:  SEE WEBSITE FOR FULL LISTING OF REQUIREMENTS AND EXPECTATIONS
Lead projects of intermediate complexity and budgets
Assume a supervisory capacity by providing work and guidance to others and, where applicable, with up to 10 direct reports
Design machinery and components, with some problem solving and decision-making authority and accountability. This includes the construction and testing of prototypes, as well as conducting feasibility studies
Prepare, allocate, comply with and monitor budgets for the department and for individual projects

The Ideal Candidate:
Deep understanding of, and exposure to, agriculture in the Western Canadian region is required
Strong communication skills with the capacity for effective information-sharing both internally and with external partners. Preference is given to candidates with extensive customer-facing experience
Education in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering holding either a Diploma or certificate (technician or technologist) and 10+ years experience or University undergraduate degree with appropriate designation and 5+ years experience. Strong background in mechanical design is required.
Strong organizational, planning, and project management skills
Proven track record of effective problem-solving through innovation
