POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Director of Employment and Learning, the Assistant Manager supervises Trade Journey staff and is responsible for design and implementation of the Trade Journey program (including expected outcomes), based on community development theories. The incumbent is an integral member of the Employment and Learning Centre staff team, supporting Trade Journey staff with some of the broader requirements of staff and participants, providing supervision and coaching in program delivery.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Initiation and oversight of design and implementation of the Trade Journey Program
2. Supervision of Trade Journey Program staff
3. Support Director in human resource functions
4. Represent the YWCA and Trade Journey on committees
5. Monitor budgets and financial position
QUALIFICATIONS
minimum 5+ years of experience in a similar role within a workforce development setting
strong knowledge of Saskatoons construction industry, Saskatchewan trades occupations and apprenticeship
familiar with return-to-work strategies, employment training and counselling
competent in the use of specific digital applications Microsoft Office 2010 Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point
an understanding of, and commitment to, the philosophies of YWCA Saskatoon.
