Description

The Yorkton Tribal Council Child and Family Services (YTCCFS) Inc. is seeking an enthusiastic dedicated individual to fill the position of Supervisor for Keeping Our Children Home project located on Cowessess First Nation. POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Supervisors primary role is to ensure Homes Programs, Operations and Policies are being maintained and ensuring program integrity by fostering and encouraging staff and client interact in a respectful manner.  
QUALIFICATIONS: 1) BISW, BSW or a degree in a related discipline. 2) A combination of a Diploma in a related discipline plus a minimum of 5 years of experience mat be considered. KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Experience working in First Nations Group home and familiar with standards, practices, policies and procedures in a First Nations setting. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Possess a valid drivers license and posses a reliable vehicle. Must be willing to upgrade skills when time and funding permits. Must be willing to work shifts. Must be able to sign an Oath of Confidentiality and a Non-disclosure Agreement.
Excellent Computer Skills with a preference to Data Base knowledge. Knowledge of First Nations Beliefs, values, languages, customs and perspectives. Knowledge of Saskatchewan Child Welfare Act including Child Welfare Policies and Procedures and the Customary Standards of Care.
Demonstrated Knowledge of First Nations History from Colonization to Present Day, this includes and is not limited to; emotional, physical, and spiritual effects related to the colonization.
