Beading Instructor
As a Beading Instructor of the Saskatoon Indian and Metis Friendship Centre, you will teach a beading class to a class of maximum 15 participants (age 9 years and up).
The position will be an evening term from mid September 2019 until March 2020. Maximum 3 hours per week.
Qualifications:
Relevant combination of work and experience will be considered
Experience in teaching beading.
Experience in storytelling and First Nations/Metis history, relating to beading.
Understanding of Saskatoons Indigenous Community.
Preference will be given to First Nation/Metis Candidates (Please self-identify).
Able to teach different beading styles and techniques such as the following: brick stitch, peyote style and flat stich. You will teach the following: how to make earrings, lanyards and medallions. The group being taught will be beginners all the way to advanced.
