Educational Assistant
Temporary Part-Time (80%) Position
SEIU-West  Union Position

Location:    St. Michael School, Weyburn, SK

Term:        September 3, 2019 to June 26, 2019
Hours:        Full days every other day, half days every other day
Rate of Pay:    Starting wage $19.08 per hour, as per SEIU-West Agreement

Required Skills/Training:    
-Minimum Grade 12 education.
-Post-secondary courses in programs such as Early Childhood Development, Educational Assistant, Personal Care Aide or similar related areas and/or related experience would be considered an asset.
-Proficient in French Language and experience with French Immersion Elementary Education, would be an asset.
-Training in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention and Physical Assault Response would be considered an asset.
-Experience with, and ability to handle, high needs children with a variety of emotional needs would be considered an asset.
-Experience with, and ability to handle, the needs of Pre-Kindergarten children would be considered an asset.
-Based on the needs of individual students, ability to provide assistance in occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, physical therapy, dressing, eating, toileting, transferring and transportation could be required.
-First Aid/CPR would be considered an asset.
-Possess a current and valid drivers license.
  
Requirements:    
-Familiarity and understanding of the practices of the Roman Catholic Faith
-Recent (within 6 months) Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check upon employment
