The Co-operative Retailing System (CRS) is a unique, multi-billion dollar organization based on the fundamental principles of co-operation. It is comprised of a network of approximately 250 autonomous retail co-operatives across Western Canada along with their branch operations, and Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL). FCL is the wholesaling/manufacturing arm of the CRS, which provides the retail co-ops with a range of products and services.
Reporting to the Meat Manager, the Meat Student Clerk is responsible for providing prompt, courteous and knowledgeable service to guests. He or she assists with receiving, stocking, and facing of Meat Department products and maintaining general cleanliness throughout the department. Other duties include providing direction for guests based on a thorough knowledge of item locations in the department and in the food store, preparing value added product, assisting with inventory, performing cooler, freezer and warehousing duties and performing other duties as assigned.
Reporting to the Meat Manager, responsibilities for this position include the following:
1. Provide information, assistance and customer service in a manner that will promote the sale of merchandise in a friendly and courteous way
2. To assist with wrapping and packing products
3. Perform housekeeping duties and maintain department cleanliness
4. To main stock levels on the sales floor
5. Organize storage (cooler and freezer area)
